This is a funky thing in mixed metre, using a 5/8 clave in the bridge ( which I devised some time after learning a 7/8 clave). It is written for a friend of mine, and Israeli guitarist called Steve Peskoff ( The Doyen), with whom I had the pleasure of playing this piece and others. At the time, it was even more complicated ( read ‘barely playable’). I have always been interested in the combination of simplicity ( the melody of this piece) and complexity ( everything else).
